a. Information You Provide

- Subscription Details: Your selected subscription plan and tier.
- Booking Information: Details of bin reservations including bin type, date, and estimated waste volume.
- Bin Listings: If you list a bin, we collect the bin address, type, available capacity, and pickup schedule.
- Communications: Messages or support requests you send to us.
b. Information Collected Automatically
- Location Data: With your permission, we collect your device's precise location to show nearby available bins.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and app version.
- Usage Data: How you interact with the App, including screens viewed, features used, and actions taken.
- Log Data: IP address, access times, and error logs for debugging and security purposes.
c. Host Activity Data
- Hosting Events: When you receive and complete bookings as a host, we record the booking ID, bin ID, completion timestamp, and whether the request was accepted or declined.
- Acceptance Rate: We calculate your monthly acceptance rate to determine eligibility for the host credit reliability bonus.
- Host Credits: We track the monthly credit balance earned through completed hostings and apply it to your subscription renewal.
- Property Listings: We track the number of distinct property addresses you have listed and the number of bins per property to enforce plan-based listing limits.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the App
- Process bookings and connect you with bin owners
- Process subscription payments through the App Store or Google Play
- Calculate and distribute booking fee shares to bin owners
- Calculate and apply host credits to eligible subscribers
- Enforce property listing limits based on your subscription tier
- Display nearby bins based on your location
- Send booking confirmations, reminders, and service updates
- Enforce our Terms of Service, including prohibited materials policies
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
- Analyze usage patterns and behavioral data to improve the user experience
- Review and moderate reported content and blocked user reports
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- With Bin Owners: When you confirm a booking, the bin owner receives your first name only.
- With Bookers: If you list a bin, your bin address is shared only with users who have a confirmed booking.
- Service Providers: We may share information with third-party vendors who assist us in operating the App.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or government request.
- Safety: We may share information to protect the rights, property, or safety of BinShare, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred.
- Content Moderation: Reports of objectionable content or blocked users are reviewed by our moderation team. We do not share the identity of reporters with the reported user.
4. Location Data
Location data is central to the BinShare experience. We use your location to display bins near you and to calculate distances.
- We request location permission when you first use the App.
- Location data is used in real-time and is not stored long-term on our servers.
- We do not track your location when the App is not in use.
- You may revoke location permissions at any time in your device settings.
- Without location access, you will not be able to browse nearby bins.
5. Host Activity Tracking
If you list bins on BinShare, we collect and process host activity data to operate the host credit system and enforce listing limits. This includes:
- Recording each completed or declined booking request you receive as a host
- Calculating your monthly acceptance rate to determine bonus eligibility
- Tracking the number of distinct property addresses and bins per address you have listed
- Storing host credit records locally on your device using encrypted device storage
This data is used solely to operate the host credit and listing limit features, and to detect potential abuse. Host activity data is not shared with other users or third parties, except as required by law or to prevent fraud.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to protecting your data using commercially reasonable safeguards.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., resolving disputes, enforcing agreements).
Booking history and transaction records may be retained in anonymized form for analytics and financial reporting purposes. Host activity records are retained for 13 months as described in Section 5.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access and receive a copy of your personal data
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format

BinShare is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

The app may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (such as mapping providers and payment processors). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.
